The Arts at Rowan University are supported by a community of performers, educators, producers, directors, designers, writers, artists and communicators; a community of creatives committed to serving and improving the world through the arts. The College of Performing Arts produces dozens of performances throughout the academic year, supported by students and faculty in the Department of Theatre & Dance and the Department of Music. The College also brings exceptional artists to campus as part of the Marie Rader Presenting Series, designed to introduce young artists to influential leaders in dance, music, theatre and beyond. The Ric Edelman College of Communication and Creative Arts is home to the award-winning Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM and the Rowan University Art Gallery, serving as a cultural destination for the Rowan community and surrounding region. Both colleges offer undergraduate and graduate programs designed to inform in both theory and practical applications, elevating creative sensibilities and creating a well-rounded, holistic artist in more than a dozen fields of study.

Rick Dammers is the Dean of the College of Performing Arts and Professor of Music Education. Dammers teachers courses in technology-based music education and a “Exploring Medicine through Musical Composition” at Cooper Medical School at Rowan University. Before teaching at Rowan, Dammers was a music teacher and the Fine Arts Facilitator in the Ladue School District in St. Louis for 13 years. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Northwestern University, a Masters and PhD in Music Education from the University of Illinois.
