A2ru is committed to dismantling racist practices in our work; we will also work to catalyze and support anti-racist efforts in our member institutions. Read our Executive Director’s letter in support of Black Lives Matter here, which also summarizes some of our current and past work towards equity in higher education. Since the summer of 2020, when the letter was written, we have added “Steps Towards Change” programming as an ongoing thread at our annual conferences, as a way to center historically marginalized voices and to learn from them how we can make our working and learning spaces more equitable and affirming.
Over the course of the 2021-2022 academic year, the a2ru staff will be developing a detailed equity action plan; we will share that plan here and via our other communication channels for public comment and feedback from our community.
