The Arts at Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech’s arts ecosystem melds cutting-edge technology with vibrant creative expression through music, visual arts, design, and performance, envisioning an arts-infused campus that supports the active collaboration of art, science, and technology while providing students the creative tools, experiences, and inspiration to improve the human condition.

Under Georgia Tech Arts, the university fosters campus-wide integration of arts into STEM fields, offering public exhibitions, performances, and workshops such as Tech’s Tactile Thursdays, community-friendly art kits, and the rotating Library Artist-in-Residence program. At the heart of performing arts is the Ferst Center for the Arts, a 950-seat state-of-the-art performance hall that hosts world-class music, dance, theater, and guest lectures, including the student-driven DramaTech Theatre (active since 1947). Georgia Tech’s School of Music, housed within the College of Design, supports a breadth of ensembles: marching band, symphony orchestra, jazz, chamber ensembles, percussion/MIDI groups, and the innovative Sonic Generator, which explores new musical frontiers through technology. Meanwhile, research at the Center for Music Technology empowers the creation of futuristic instruments, robotic musicians, and immersive sound experiences, showcasing Georgia Tech’s commitment to art‑tech integration. Students engage in theatre, music, visual arts, design, and dance through co-curricular clubs and events, including the TechArts Festival, Clough Art Crawl, library exhibitions, and more. These experiences allow Georgia Tech students to innovate not just with technology, but through art and human expression.
