Communications Coordinator, Virginia Tech Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT)
POSITION
The Virginia Tech Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT) is looking for its first Communications Coordinator!
The ICAT Communications Coordinator will create, implement, and manage the Institute’s communication efforts to support projects and people as it aligns with ICAT’s vision and strategic priorities. ICAT is one of the few arts integrated research institutes in the country and has a unique array of studios including the one-of-a-kind Cube. Reporting to the Executive Director of ICAT and working closely with the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing for Research and Innovation, this position will develop engaging content to tell the story of ICAT projects and community. The position requires someone with expert storytelling skills and writing experience. The Coordinator will develop content such as, but not limited to, news releases, social media posts, blog posts, website content, articles, and messaging. The person should have a deep understanding of engaging content and social media trends. The communications coordinator will develop and manage ICAT’s communications calendar and lead strategies, execution, and content development that highlights ICAT’s unique research contributions.
ICAT advances arts integrated research, innovation, and education by bringing together faculty and students across disciplines; providing funding, space, support, and expertise; and building mutually beneficial partnerships beyond campus. ICAT includes three research centers: the Center for Human-Computer Interaction (CHCI), The Center for the Future of Work Places and Practices, and the Center for Educational Networks and Impacts (CENI).
