Music in Place Podcast

Artists, Arts organizations, How to do Creative Placemaking?, Music, How to do Creative Placemaking

Music in Place is a show from the Harrison Center that focuses on place-based music. Many genres of music emphasize place, rooting the song and the musician in a particular style, tradition, or the culture specific to a region or city. Much of our work at the Harrison Center emphasizes and explores place-- in our case, our city and home of Indianapolis, Indiana. The songs you’ll hear on Music in Place have been specifically written to celebrate Indy, its culture, people, and history by resident musicians at the Harrison Center. Some of the musicians are local to Indianapolis and others have come through the city from all over the country to do artist residencies and write music that celebrates the city. With fresh eyes, they help us see things about our city we would never have seen.
