Funding

Aug 18, 2022

The Center for Craft is a national nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to advancing the field of craft through fostering new ideas, funding craft scholarships, and backing the next generation of makers, curators, and critics. Since 2005 the Center has annually supported scholars, artist-researchers, curators, and graduate students writing, revising, and reclaiming the history of craft and the creation of new research and knowledge through the Craft Research Fund. The Fund awards grants in three categories: Artist Fellowships, Exhibition Grants, and Project Grants.

Artist Fellowship:

Awards of $10,000 will be granted to five, mid-career artists to support research projects that advance, expand, and support the creation of new research and knowledge through craft practice. At the end of the grant period, Fellows’ research will be disseminated through a publication, conference presentation, exhibition, film, or other format proposed by the Fellow.

Exhibition Grant

Grants up to $15,000 awarded to support projects that encourage, expand, and support scholarly craft research in the United States.
