Dr. Laurie Baefsky Appointed Executive Director of a2ru

Dr. Laurie Baefsky has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities (a2ru) and the University of Michigan’s ArtsEngine.
Dr. Baefsky earned a Bachelor of Music from California State University, Fullerton, a Master of Music in Flute Performance from the University of Michigan, and a Doctorate of Music Arts – also in Flute Performance – from Stony Brook University. Additionally, Dr. Baefsky brings to a2ru and ArtsEngine a great wealth of fundraising experience and arts leadership.

Spending her career directing arts programs within the university and not-for-profit sectors, Dr. Baefsky was most recently the founding director of Utah State University’s ArtsBridge, which is part of ArtsBridge America: a national consortium of universities that leverage the arts as a tool to transform communities.

Dr. Baefsky will assume the role of Executive Director on August 15th. Please join us in welcoming her as we look forward to the future of both ArtsEngine and a2ru.
