Arts Management Concentration MFA Graduate Fellows, George Mason University

George Mason University Arts Management’s newly launched MFA degree concentration seeks leaders and innovators as fully supported Graduate Fellows!

George Mason University’s Arts Management program has launched a new Arts Management concentration within the Master of Fine Art (MFA) degree. The MFA – Arts Management Concentration is a highly selective and individualized program for innovative arts leaders and managers who wish to develop, test, and refine new practice in the field. This 60-credit terminal degree is designed so that students can transfer up to 29 credits from an existing, related graduate degree.

Students will work with expert faculty throughout the college, including Dr. Carole Rosenstein, one of the nation’s foremost experts on arts and culture policy and director of the MFA – Arts Management Concentration.

Applications open on September 15th, 2024 and close on December 15th, 2024.

In 2025-2026, the MFA – Arts Management Concentration will offer two Fellowships for Innovation in Arts Management. Fellows will receive:

  • Free tuition and fees (within the MFA curriculum)
  • A research stipend of $36,000/per academic year
  • Subsidized health insurance

About the Arts Management Program:

The mission of the Arts Management program is to advance the management of the arts across sectors – public, commercial, and nonprofit – and disciplines – theatre, dance, music, visual arts, literature, film, video – in museums, performing arts centers, and other venues. Using best practices, current technologies, vibrant communications, and good practical reasoning, our graduates help to sustain and develop art forms, artists, and audiences.
