Center for Community Progress and Metris Consulting released Creative Placemaking on Vacant Properties: Lessons Learned from Four Cities, documenting creative placemaking work focused on reactivating vacant spaces in Wilkinsburg, PA; Kalamazoo, MI; Newburgh, NY; and Macon, GA. Next City’s Jared Brey wrote a thoughtful exploration of the report which brings some of the specific case studies to light. The project is supported by an NEA Our Town Knowledge Building grant.
