Utilize the specialized and unique professional engineering resources to establish and organically grow a center for engineering innovation that focuses on translational development work, bridging the gap between basic science and engin¬eering innovation and commercial product development.
This center will be instrumental in:
- facilitating sustainability and success of existing businesses and future startups,
- maturing and de-risking technologies and thus increasing IP and commercial value, and
- developing and growing (larger scale) contract funding for sponsored research and development in Utah.
