The STEM Crisis: Reality or Myth?

Students need more education of many types to supplement STEM at the university level.


This month an article in the Chronicle of Higher Education explored the question of whether the need for more STEM workers is meme, myth or fact. There may or may not be a shortage of STEM workers in the U.S., but there is a need for more technology workers. “Really combining STEM knowledge with humanities knowledge would be ideal,” according to David Hart, director of the Center for Science and Technology Policy at George Mason University.
