Teamwork: Interdisciplinary Communication

Communication is key from making yourself understood to trusting people you don’t know to do work you don’t easily understand


We need pooled interdisciplinary expertise to solve real life problems, Experts can clash over language, divergent perspectives, and knowledge gaps. Recognizing these barriers — and discussing how to overcome them — is crucial.

Successful interdisciplinary teamwork requires; sharing language, accepting different perspectives, acknowledging what you don’t know, making time for each other, and getting the research out.

Facilitating open and honest conversation opens the door to new possibilities which is where the power of interdisciplinarity lives.
