Designed as an introduction to user-centered practice in Human-Computer Interaction.

Designed as an introduction to user-centered practice in Human-Computer Interaction, the first half of this Carnegie Mellon University course takes students into the world of “users” and the technologies they use, with the expressed goal of understanding users’ work in context to tease out underlying practices, motivations and goals. The second half of the course provides students the tools to evaluate potential designs, draw on use data and the existing environment to respond to user and client needs, and to walk through a prototype, product or service, and apply expert review.
